Originally from Perpignan, where she took her first musical steps, Myriam Rignol trained at the CNSMD in Lyon, the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne and the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels. Regularly invited to perform as soloist, in ensemble or with orchestra throughout the world, she has received numerous international awards, including First Prize at the 2010 Yamanashi International Early Music Competition (Kōfu – Japan), and Second Prize and Audience Prize at the 2011 Musica Antiqua International Competition at the MA Festival (Bruges – Belgium).
She is a founding member of the ensemble “Les Timbres” with violinist Yoko Kawakubo and harpsichordist Julien Wolfs. The ensemble, with which Myriam Rignol has made several recordings, was awarded First Prize at the prestigious Bruges Chamber Music Competition (Belgium – 2009), as well as the Prize for Best Contemporary Creation. Myriam Rignol is also a member of Les Arts Florissants, Ensemble Pygmalion and Ensemble Correspondances, and collaborates with other ensembles and orchestras such as Hesperion XXI and Ricercar Consort. She performs regularly throughout Europe and in Japan. In 2011, she founded the viola da gamba class at the Conservatoire du Grand Besançon, where she taught until 2024.
